Carry on a great tradition.
The Porteur bicycle originated in World War II. It derives its name from the distinctive rack attached to the front fork, used to transport all manner of stuff across cities. It’s reported Porteurs were first popularised by newspaper sellers in Paris. They’d balance stacks of first editions on the front and weave their way through the city’s streets. Delivery boys for Bakers and Butchers soon followed suit. Porteurs are still a common site in Holland today, carrying everything from dogs to crates of beer. Elian has created a number of distinctive and stylish Porteurs for his clients. Teaming high end components with luxurious touches like calf’s leather straps and Brooks leather saddles.
A complete Porteur bike includes a custom made frame, custom made rack, steel crowned fork, a custom made stem, a Chrisking ahead set, fenders, Sram automatic chain drive setup and of course all the other required “small” parts to get the bike ridable!
